Project Overview

A 6-Phase Contract

Union Concrete completed a 6-Phase contract constructing two new bridges over the Buffalo River and Cazenovia Creek, realigning of the roadway (2 lanes either direction) and associated utilities, demolition and pocket park restoration at the existing structures’ site, necessitating several traffic pattern changes. The contract outlined liquidated damages for contract completion and opening of bridges to traffic.

These bridges required very large foundations. Union Concrete crews worked through the winter ensuring a successful schedule.

Minimal work could be done at certain times due to high water levels.

The Bailey Peninsula was renamed as a park once the bridges were demolished and the area was landscaped.
