Project Overview

Complete Reconstruction of a 725’ Long Bridge

The existing bridge was a 5 span truss bridge and was replaced with a 4 span steel mulit-girder structure. The new structure included architectural finishes cast in to the bridge parapet. The street light poles on the bridge display Seneca Nation banners, and the base of each has a metal medallion representing the clan animals. A two-tiered fishing platform was constructed with the upper tier being accessible by ramps and is ADA compliant, while the lower tier is accessible via stairs. The project also included new drainage, curb, and sidewalk.

Located on a Seneca Nation of Indians reservation
Additional coordination was required with the Seneca Nation and compliance with their environmental and workforce regulations
Water Service
A 16” waterline had to be removed from the old structure, stored, and re-installed on the new structure. While the waterline was out of service, a 12” temporary line was directionally drilled under the river to service the nearby Casino.
Eastern Hellbenders
This project also included the created an enhanced habitat for the species of special concern.
